INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Mar. 26, 2015 – New Indiana-based micro-brand, Visitor Watch Co., recently launched their debut wristwatch, the Calligraph Duneshore. The Duneshore features an ergonomic, curved display back, a sandwich dial with applied indices, BGW9 luminant on the hands, minutes, hours, date, and dial signature, a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, pierced lugs, a screw-down crown, 100 meters of water resistance, Miyota 9015 power, a custom winding rotor, and a French deerskin strap (among other leather options) with original buckle. The Duneshore will come packaged in a leather travel case with strap changing tool and custom watch polishing cloth by WristClean. Of the 300 Duneshores produced in Visitor’s initial production run, approximately 80 watches remain available for pre-order, at a price of $650. All pre-orders are being handled through www.visitorwatchco.com and estimated delivery is August 2015.
With the Duneshore, Visitor set out to craft a watch that was both personal and idiosyncratic. Its midcase was inspired by the sand dunes of the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, local to company founder, Phil Rodenbeck. And its curved caseback was inspired by Chicago’s famous Cloud Gate sculpture (AKA The Bean). The watch face features unique hands inspired by calligraphy nibs and the dial has been thinly lacquered to give the appearance of wet ink. All components (save the movement, itself customized) are original to Visitor Watch Co. As a result, the Duneshore possess a look all its own.
